I like Mikes hard whatever and thought that the alcohol content was similar to that of a wine cooler. I was wrong. It's on par with beer. I had two yesterday while my wife was at work and I was at home with my 3 1/2 year old. I didn't get drunk but I did feel pretty relaxed.

Jut putting this in the parenting forum to warn others that drinking "on the job" isn't such a good idea.

I have had 2 friends. Whose parents didn't realise what the 'hard' in the name meant. xD

They brought it home and allowed there ten year old to drink. lol

Sometimes people can be too innocent; and that can be bad for you!

I read a news article a while back about a man who took his minor son to a professional baseball game. He bought the kid a Mike's thinking it was just lemonaide, and someone saw and complained. Child protective services actually came and took the kid away. What a terrible experience for that family.

How can someone mistake that for lemonade? :? Wouldn't there be a label saying it's Mike's and don't all labels say if something is lemonade or not like strawberry lemonade or lemonade if it's regular lemonade?

It looks like lemonaide, and there's a picture of a lemon on the bottle.
Also it says, "Mike's Hard Lemonaide".
I assume the father was unfamiliar with the brand, and didn't know hard=alcohol.
Either that or he was lying to save his arse.

Ah, that makes more sense. I have never heard of the brand either nor heard of the term hard for alcohol so I might have not known either and make the same mistake. Only way I wouldn't make that mistake is if they don't even carry beer and why would I stop at a booth that carries beer only when I want to buy a drink (I don't mean beer)? I don't even drink. Unless the booth carried both drinks. None alcohol and alcohol. Also if I have never heard of a drink, I ask what it is and the flavor or what's in it. I sure don't want to buy something and then turns out I don't like it and bam money wasted.

This was one of my bigger culture shock moving to Michigan from Massachusetts. I walk into a pharmacy and there is alcohol for sale. o.O;
