Hi- I have to gush! So please excuse. BUT yesterday Chris was AMAZING! The kids and I were at a fast food place playing with a friend of mine and her 3 kids. She has a 3 yr old boy and 21 month old twins. The play area is seperate from the eating area. There is a door that leads from the play area to the outside but you cannot get in from the outside to the play area and it has always been closed (latched) when we have been there. Yesterday it was not latched and my friends twins got outside and were wandering around. I had not seen the door open until I saw Chris run out it. When we got into the room Chris had already brought the little girl back in and was heading back out to get the little boy. The very scary thing about this is that they were probably in the drive through!

I am so glad that Chris was paying attention yesterday because sometimes he just is not. Yes, we are making a HUGE deal out of this! I am so very proud of him! I told him he was a sort of rescue hero like a policeman. He asked me if a Jedi would save kids and I told him of course and they would be very proud of him if they were real. :)

Katherine :)

its a great thing he was paying attention, becuase if not and if the kids got ran over while playing in drive through area the fast food franchise could be in big trouble with lawsuits and what he did was prevented the place from getting sued and possibly shut down.

And I think far more importantly he may well have saved two little lives, fast food chain be damned!

What a great boy. You are right to be very proud of him. And shame on that restaurant.

i think this should be a lesson to that restaruant or the parents who have kids playing there to SUPERVISE THE KIDS! or at least an employee if parents don't care.

what a wonderful story... my son would do the same thing.. he is very rigid about what he feels is good and bad.. when he sees kids alone and he feels they are too little he says MOM they have no adult supervision where are their parents? kids can be amazing sometimes..

Chris has been walking around on cloud nine since this incident. It is wonderful to see the boost to his self esteem. Thank you all for reading the post and for your comments. :D

My friend and I actually were watching all of the kids as there is a large glass window from one area to the next. I can always see my kids above the wall because they are all tall kids. I never gave it any thought as to her twins because the door in question has a bar that is well above their height that requires you to push fairly hard to get the door to open. What happened is an adult did not close the door all the way when they left to the outside through the play area. I am just thankful that Chris reacted so quickly or I am quite sure we would not have discovered that anything was amiss thinking that the twins were in the play structure. Scary!! !
