I mentioned this in a reply to another post, but this morning I fired off a very stern letter to the director of Special Education for our school district requesting them to provide support for my son. I attached documentation from our OT, the areas on the OASIS checklists where home and school see issues, and a history of our professional involvement. We are on a waitlist for a neuropsych assessment, but it is 4 - 6 months long. I told the director that we cannot wait for that assessment, he is going in to grade four and he needs the help NOW. From our conversation I am 95% sure we will get support for our son at school next year. I could cry with happiness and relief. It has been such a long struggle. I know it will continue to be a difficult road, but at least if we can get some help for him in school, it might make it a little bit easier. Just thought I would share this hopeful news, in case there are other parents out there who are fighting the good fight for their kids. There is hope!

Always hope if you're willing to kick up a fuss.
