Hi every one...I'm still very new at all this!
I haven't done my signiture or anything yet...to tired of READING up and thinking and rethinking .....

We've got 2 sons...oldest(almost 8 yr old) has been diagnosed 4-5 weeks ago with possible high functioning asperger....First thought it was ODD...but now seems to be more asd....after reading and looking at video's today...i'm starting to tick the boxes! Also diagnosed with anxiety disorder...and in my opinion some depression symptoms.

He has been put on different meds, Risperdal (BAD side-effects)...stopped....Tofranil....vomiting....stop.
Now doing well on Cyprelex (antidepressant)...almost 3 weeks since any meltdowns....We can breath again!

Must be honest...I'm still a bit in denail....struggling with excepting the diagnosis.

Been working VERY hard on parenting skills, relationship and preventing meltdowns!

Glad I found this site

New ways of looking at things always take some getting used to. Allow yourself to go through all the emotions of the process. Meanwhile, I am glad you've got something that is clicking for you! It's like finally finding a set of keys, isn't it?

I am a big advocate for the book written by one of our AS members specifically for parents. You'll find it free for download at ASDStuff.com.
