New school=new teacher=lots of change
Private 12 kids to 22 kids
Homework is different somehow
2 hours after school at Missing Links(ABA training)

Not set up for him chart form
So he had trouble writing date, reading, time(rather than pages)
And he also had math games to do(add/subtract/division/multiply)

Each for 10 minutes and record.

Plain NO. Don't want to. Claims it is too hard. What???

He is already at grade 2 level and in grade 5. I know only first day.

Let's hope tomorrow he has time to adjust and gets back into flow.

Change does that to this kid. I must be patient!

We are working on getting EA and IEP in this school. HELP!

I really feel for you! BIG HUGS!! ! We go through this every year with J, too. J is in the fourth grade this year, and all of a sudden the homework faucet has been turned on full blast! This is so different (for all of us), since we haven't had much homework before this year. So far J seems to be doing o.k. with it though. They tie gator bucks (tickets he can spend on insignificant toys) to turning in homework on time. J is a capitalist, so this plan is working so far...

Maybe ya'll can come with some sort of incentive program for your son???

God do I hate the concept of homework. Its not enough that a kid has to sit and
listen to a teachers for several hours but they had to go home and work more. In
the job world that called "overtime" and bussiness are force to pay 150% the normal
hour rate for such and its optional!! !! ! In the future computer software used at home will
replace the entire education system.

We are hiring a tutor to work with him and who understands aspergers better than I. He was only diagnosed in June and I have read lots but it does not come naturally.

Will spend one hour on homework rather than whole night frustrated.

Better also for middle child who seriously needs me time and gets pushed aside constantly for this childs needs. Good for all.

Also, it takes lots of money to run schools. And between homework and after school related activities how much time do kids in school spend with their families. Kind of wonder if they do that to make kids think it is normal to spend all your time on the job while basically ignoring your family when they get older.
