Need Daily Schedule Help
I need some help with making a daily schedule for my kids. Can someone help me?
They wake up between 6am and 7am. We like to get outside for a couple hours each day doing active play. Hiking, Beach, etc. We will also go to the library once a week.
They like to play xbox, tv, computer games, books, puzzles. They have morning chores like making bed, getting dressed. cleaning room. I am teaching them both to read and we work on this. We practice writing. Do art projects. I like to read to them. They help prepare lunch. My kids both work on math online and a reading comprehension program online. They do this every other day. usually. We have family time, unplugged for an hour and sometimes a movie at night.
My schedule has gone by the wayside and I'm having trouble being able to put into a time slot everything that needs to get done. I should have never let it suffer. It's very important for me as well as my kids. Can anybody get me started?

I was just thinking about this for my house, and thinking through the steps needed.
Write down all activities in a given time period (day week or month). Next to that activity write how often you need to do it and if it is a daily, weekly or monthly goal. (example bed maki g would be daily, library weekly). For those things that don't matter how often but need a certain amount of time, write down the weekly or monthly time requirement - for instance reading, 2 hrs per week.
I do this on a spreadsheet to stay organized and make it easy to move stuff around.
Then I assemble all of the daily activities, and fill them in for each day. Then I look at the weekly, and decide which day slots to fill them in..then I look at the monthly and fill them in. Those things that just have a time period, but not a frequency requirement can fill in around the scheduled items.
For us what has worked is to say - we have 10 math assignments need to be completed this week. To make time for horse back riding, we will need to get the math done in 4 days instead of five. So we have total output goals too, then we can move them around as we need to free up time for priorities which take longer. So long as the goals are my DS's, he is pretty good about crossing them off the list.

Visual schedules are great for kid with AS, and it is a wonderful tool to help them get things done. My 11-years old still needs schedules to go through things like morning routine. Here is a great link: http://autism.healingthresholds.com/the ... -schedules. A tip from my daughter's therapist: let them help you build the schedule. That way they will have a saying in their routines and they will appropriate the idea better. Also let them choose the pictures. You can download the pics from the internet and they can help you cut them to put them in the board, so it is gonna be like a family project. Also remember to give them enough time to complete the chore, because if they are not able to achieve the goal inside the time expected they will get anxious. Good luck!
We use the pecs all the time. I even went so far as to purchase Boardmaker and all the additional libraries. Laminator.
We have little things all over the house. Amazing how much they help my ADHD child as well. She can't do more than 2 or 3 step processes without getting sidetracked.
Now, I need to get myself organized better so I know when to do what and things don't get lost in the cracks. THIS is my huge problem.
