Hi every one...hope you're having a great day! So far, I have, because all 3 men are still sleeping! LOL

I've just found this great AS questionaires...I like it because it's very detailed and descriptive of each area....has been subdevided and easy printable version! I'm going to mark it and give it to the new OT and ST, I think this will help them develope a great idea of my sons behaviour! And I'm going to use it to set up parenting goals for assisting in behaviour and learning new lifeskills!

It's from Parenting your Asperger child by Alan Sohn.
Regards!

I'm terribly sorry, I'm no good with computers....don't know how to post a link! :(

If you google this book and his name....you will find a whole page on this subject....go down 3-5 titles under google and you will find the sight that tells you that it's the checklist/symptoms that he has written.

Truely hope this will be enough info to help you...the one checklist, gives you a score on how strong positive you are for AS and the other one gives good descriptive aspects of AS

Oh, god, I hate that book. I agree the checklist is great, but it's the only bit that is. The author seems very prejudiced against AS people and basically argues that you should value normal behavior over anything else. I especially hate when he tells an AS child that 'being teased is what happens when you act weird'. That's such a horrible thing to tell a child who's being bullied or likely to be bullied - placing the blame on them for being weird when the bullies are the ones behaving inappropriately.

Ettina...sorry to hear that you experienced the book that way....this makes me wonder if I need to go through the trouble of ordering the book for me?
I agree that it's not nice to put the blame on the AS, BUT it's the hard reallity of live.....The one OT and pdoc said that the main aim of all the treatment is to help the AS kid to BLEND IN....I know it's hard work and difficult but when they are tweens the only big thing they want is to blend in and not feel 'stupid' (my sons words).....
