Support at last!
I have been waiting for support from the local services, received a letter in the post offering my son a place in a group of others his age. The course is around sensory issues and anxiety difficulties.
Just wondering if any parent has experience of this and if it's been of help to their child. My son is at the teenage years where everything sucks. I feel this could be positive anything that can help with school issues must be of help. Any suggestions how I can convince him to attend?
I haven't spoken to him about it yet but I feel at the moment he is not open to much?

I don't have teenagers yet so I can't offer any direct experience but I wanted to say that I really hope this helps you guys! I know its been a difficult time for you.
This may only work for us because my son is younger but maybe it will work for you? I "blame" it on someone else when he needs to do something like this that he may be resistant to. If I were in your shoes, I would tell DS that the Doctor says we have to go to this group. Maybe it will be fun. The Doctor says there will be other kids there that are a lot like you (or insert some other enticement that might be a positive motivator for him).
Good luck!
