So I looked online and it said the Proloquo2Go was in French. I bought my daughters iPad and we cant use the app as it is currently only in English. I found the FB site and posted how upset I was and how my daughter took to her iPad like a fish to water. That child just "gets" electronics. She was showing us how to use it and we only had it for an hour, its like we put it in her hand and she knew how to use it. We have found some other PECS programs....but still none in French. Anyway they did answer me and told us that the French and Spanish versions will come out at the beginning of the year (not very specific). They also tried to convince me to buy now and that I could upgrade when the French version comes out....No thank you! So hopefully they will get on the ball and have it done soon and we will buy it then. Im just really frustrated because this could really make a huge difference in school for her and I really dont think its that hard to make it in another language and I dont know why they didnt make it in other languages to begin with, as if only English speaking children need it.
My kids therapy center were also really looking forward to trying it as most of the kids are non verbal. Guess there is nothing I can do but wait. We are just really disappointed. So I just wanted to let anyone else know that it is currently only in English. They have another program where you can make social stories and it is in French so we did get that one and the other PECS programs we have (still in English) were free so we got them and she is using them. She sat at the table tonight pressing the "I want steak" button until my husband finally put her steak in front of her  . Its kind of exciting even though some what annoying because she never asks for food so she really likes its. She also likes free speech program we found that teaches her to pronounce words and records her voice.

EDIT: I just got a couple more messages from the Proloquo app and they are being very helpful. They told me that if we buy the English app now the French app will be free so I think we will go ahead and do this as, at least, it helps at home and her aide does understand quite a bit of English.....just cant wait for the French version.

While we don't use this, I think it is super helpful information to know. I normally only hear from English speakers.

Hopefully you'll get the French soon and your daughter will be soaring!

It is so funny to me how easy it is for some kids to use an iPad, because I find them annoying as heck, and I'm not bad at technology - I'm just bad at "touch" technology. I'm too clumsy, always doing something I didn't mean to! Not because I initiate the wrong action, but because the dang thing "feels" the wrong action. Oh well!

Its quite expensive too.
I got the TapToTalk app the other day, and am getting my son to choose breakfast with it. I believe Proloquo2go is a better app for higher functioning or older people but I quite like the way I can run as many TapToTalk clients as I want without having to buy them, and it runs on my Android phone as well as the iPad.

She was using the TapToTalk last nigh when she was asking for steak :). Yes the Proloquo2Go is a huge program and it is a bit overwhelming but you can delete what you dont need and then retrieve them later if you do need them. You can also make your own PECS with actual pictures which my daughter really likes. The photo booth came with our iPad. Our iPad was 400 Euro because we got about 38 Euro off on sale. The Proloquo2Go was 130 Euro which is close to 200$. So it is expensive but if you compare to the other types of speaking tools it is actually cheap, plus we knew that my daughter would be good at it....electronics make sense peoples words, not so much.
I would definitely try it out before buying it. Its one of the reasons I was so upset that it was not in French yet as my kids friends at their therapy center are mainly non verbal and there are so many of the parents that want to try this. Maddy would probably be happy to show them how to do it :). I guess I shouldnt complain too much at least it will be out the beginning of the year and we did get the Pictello which you can set up stories, schedules and sentences. It is from the same company and it is in French and several other languages.
Even though my daughter can speak her comprehension and her ability to put her thoughts into words is still an issue. PECS (pictures) have always made more sense to her. You can tell her to "wait" until you are blue in the face but if you hold up the PECS wait card you see the little light go on.....Oh ok!
Im also happy about the Proloquo's Im hurt/Im sick page....this is also a major issue for us. She is unable to tell us where she has pain. We also like the emotions pages that can help her to express how she feels.
DW....I also have problems with the touch things but I think it easier for the little ones because they have tiny fingers....also Maddy has always had really good fine motor skills, her large motor skills are a different issue but oh well shes more intelligent than I am when it comes to this kind of stuff so who needs to be athletic!
