At my childrens school they have a group of children who are very social and they call them peer buddies. They help other children who are not so very social, mostly children with autism and help them make friends. They assist on the school bus, at lunch and during recess. My son has been a peer buddy for the past 3 years because he is very social. He gets along great with other autistic children, I think he can relate to them more so then the average child. He has won awards his outstanding help and I am so proud of him. I was wondering if they have programs like this is your childrens schools? I used to work in the school and I was a teachers aid and also worked with children with autism, I also used to nanny for a family who had autistic children, I am also drawn to special needs children.. I think my son takes after me. :o)
