My son HATES going outside. It can be a real battle to get him to leave the house.

I used to play outside when I was like 9 or 10, and a bit on my skateboard when I was 12, but since then, I got bored with it.

my aspie son LOVES to be outside~ for a long time, we could hardly get him to come back inside. now he spends alot of time walking around town or in the woods. my undx'd daughter, however, hates being outside. especially if i mention her playing any sort of game ( hopscotch and jumprope, i've been told, are EVIL)

My kids both love it outside. This year's pleasant summertime weather has been a godsend, here.

The transition to back to school is a high impact trauma at our house, but the weather continues to hold out and the kids get outside as soon as they return from school. My daughter was very easy to calm down when she was only weeks old by just letting her look outside.

My son hates to go outside and he likes his room dark, he always has the shades pulled down and the curtains closed. The child pyscoligist (sp) says he might need some medication for anxiety...

He absolutely loves it. Seems that there are never enough hours in the day for all of his adventures.

I will just say that as a child I liked being outside when I got to do what I wanted, and be alone. I enjoyed gardening and building things outside (popsicle stick town, etc) I only did this when it was cool though.

I prefer to stay inside unless it is cool outside. I dont mind cold, but I dont do heat. I also prefer wandering around at night, and love overcast/darker days.

I also dont much like bright lights, or anything shining on me.

Yes, he likes to be outside but sometimes it's a struggle to get him outside. Then, he doesn't want to come in. When he is outside, it's a calming influence - sometimes he'll just sit outside and read. But there have been times when I've had to lock him out.

J loves being outside, but on his terms. He loves hiking and camping ALL the time. Sometimes he will play with certain neighborhood kids, but only for a little while and it usually ends up in a misunderstanding.

I've played outside until the age of Ten. Starting at the age of Eleven, I've gone outside to lay in the Sun.

Getting my son (age 16) out of the house has been like pulling teeth since he was about ten. Aside from trips to school or going somewhere with family, he goes absolutely nowhere. He has had no friends for that same length of time, and makes it clear that he is quite content with just his family as friends and indoor activities. I don't push him as much as I used to. He's quite sensitive to both cold and sunlight, and gets so grumpy when he's uncomfortable, that it's just not worth it to make him get out.

There was a time in my life when I actually wanted to go outside and play, but my parents didn't allow it. My sister liked sitting inside and reading all the time and they thought I should be the same way. It was really frustrating having all that energy and having to stay locked in the house all the time.

Later in life, I preferred staying in too, but my parents got on their stupid swimming fixation and forced me out into the pool whenever my sister went out. It didn't matter what I wanted to do, even if I wanted to read a book it didn't matter, when there was swimming going on, I had to regardless of if I wanted to or not.

These days, I'm not all that much into going outside, although I do occasionally Geocache. I prefer the outside in moderation.

My son hates it when I make him go outside to play. He would much rather watch the Weather Channel or play video games or organize his Yu-Gi-Oh cards. I only try to enforce it so he gets some exercise.

While waiting for the bus this morning my son said "Yay! It's raining!" I asked him why he was so excited and he said "Because I don't have to play outside if it's raining". When I asked him why he didn't want to play outside he said "Because it's boring".

I used to like it when we had a rainy day during the summer. When it rained, my parents couldn't force me outside to go swimming. It was my only reprieve from it.

Since I discovered Geocaching, I do actually want to go outside, but not during the brutally hot summers we have here. Geocaching is a great way to combine high technology and the outdoors.

That was me, big time. As a kid, I used to love dark clouds in the daytime and bad weather. I also loved nighttime. Sunlight annoyed the sh*t out of me. It's not surprising that I was never afraid of thunderstorms or strong winds. This pattern still holds true (at age 23), although to a much lower extent. Although I don't like rain and snow anymore, since they get in the way of driving, I still prefer nighttime to daytime.
