Just posting an update regarding my son age 13yrs dx ADHD, OCD, AS (well after another assessment childhood autism, but my son likes the name Aspergers so we will stick with that).
2nd year in high school, we had/he had such a difficult time settling in to high school so its been along near 2 years.

After many battles with local services and school success! :D The battles we/he faced regarding resources hours, diagnosis, bullying, school refusal etc were so stressful for the whole family.

My son managed to go to school for a full week last week this has not happened for a long time, local services on board now, school giving him full resource hours, bullying been dealt with, teachers understanding dx better and now willing to learn. ASD service, mental health services and school working together, whilst I know school will never be my son favourite place and there will be many more battles to come but with support now for him and the family the journey should be less stressful. My mental health is still intact "Just" phew! :D

That is great news and thanks for sharing it. You have been in the trenches with your son and now finally some success. Awesome!

I wish that I had been able to do the same with my son when he was your son's age but unfortunately, no one, including the fancy dancy school district we were in, had a clue about him...

We are busy playing catch up now, he is 20, and we too are making progress, painfully slow but progress never the less and I will gladly take it.

Very happy for you and your son!

Takes a "Tiger" mother to deal with the school system, the professionals and the son who is in pain.

Cheers for you and your son!

Thanks for all your kind words, I don't posted as much now but do continue to read other posts and comment if I feel I can contribute and learn from and most importantly understand. For me understanding is powerful! It will always keep a family together :D.
I have posted this numerous times, wrong planet has been a huge support for me and has provided me with valuable information and insight. I feel the most important thing is that your are not alone and knowing that you are dealing with issues which are daily as best one can and receiving positive feedback is a blessing ! Thanks again :D
