Hey friends!! It's me!! I haven't been on in a few weeks, but decided to be a good mom and get my Jay checked out. We are meeting with our district Interdisciplinary Team on Wednesday at 9 am. The team consists of a diagnostician, a child psychologist, speech pathologist, and counselor. I'm receiving some forms to start filling out. Just really nervous. I have a feeling Jay is on the spectrum, definitely in the high functioning/AS end. My husband is finally all for it because I explained that if we are going to be sending him to Kindergarten in August or even next year if we hold him for one more year (he would turn five literally DAYS before school starts), we need to take advantage of testing now and getting an IEP in place. Once they are in public school where I am, it can take FOREVER to get the ball rolling. Like I told him, "Even if it means his IEP says that his teacher needs to hold his hand during a fire drill," then they legally have to do it. I think hubby believes that nothing will come up. I'm just ready to get the ball rolling either way. Either he is or he isn't, and if he is, then we can get therapies or whatever else is necessary in place. I feel better knowing that I will know something more come Wednesday. I will keep you guys updated!! !! Thanks for being here for me!!
