"Mommy, if I could vote I would vote for Mitt Romney."

"Oh, and why is that?"

"Because Obama has already had a turn and I think it should be fair."

ROFL!

As we often say at our house, that is one way of looking at it! Thoughtful kiddo! Sounds like some of the lessons are sinking in :)

He did say if he couldn't fix it in 4 years he should be a one term president.

That is cute though. It's good your child understands that.

Just want you to know my 6 yr old son (PDD NOS dx and ADHD) said in essence the same thing. We started it by asking him who he'd vote for and he also said, "Romney because he hasn't had a turn yet." It's all those great social skills we are trying to teach them! LOL It really made me smile. Kids say the cutest things. Today he insisted on voting also, so I had to make up a pretend ballot. Haha! I'm definitely saving that to show him when he's 18.

I found this cute because of the child innocence view that politics are "fair."

Does your son know about term limits and/or the 22nd Amendment? Might be a good research project for him if he's genuinely interested.

Nah...she's not even remotely interested in stuff like that. When I told her that sometimes people are presidents twice in a row, she just said that she didn't like it, because it wasn't fair and everyone should get a chance to be president.

Ah, the naivete of youth! :)

Tell her that most of us wouldn't want that job! WAY too stressful! :)

Or you could point out that it's only mathematically possible for 30 people to have a turn being president in a human lifetime if we lived to be 120, which is an extremely high life expectancy to be assuming!
