Are there any parents homeschooling their AS child (ren)?

Do you have any experiences you care to share, pros or cons?

Do you facilitate classroom learning experiences or follow your childrens needs?

Are you using ABA or following the curriculum?

If you have a diagnosis of Aspergers, have you been homeschooled and have any experiences to speak of? & if not, would you have preferred to have been homeschooled?

I have been really toying with the idea of my daughter beng homeschooled for her fourth year (beginning September), due to the increase of issues in the school, lack of support, understanding, sensory overload, tormenting children, my daughters refusal to participate and constant calls home to return home etc and would really love to hear others experiences, the good, the bad &/or the ugly...

Thanks in advance :)

I homeschool my AS son, I follow his needs while balancing it with what I think is needed. I let him follow his obsessions (like history) as much as possible. He also does a lot of work out loud because writing is so hard for him... or he types.

en_una_isla,

Do you have a education plan or activities outlined for him? What about socialization? How do you find that balance?

& if you do not mind, I wonder where you are in the world?...as I am sure it differs all over. I am in Toronto, ON.
