Hello!

I am making apps and games for children below 6, but it has attracted lots of attention of parents of autistic children.

I don't know why exactly this happen, but it might be related to myself (I am aspie).

But I want you to give feedback on my current things, and suggest new ones to create, or improvements to the current ones :)

Here is my site: www.kidoteca.com

Beside the stuff on the site, there are a weather and clock app (not on site because Apple do not approved yet), and I am making a jigsaw app with animals on the picture and names of animals shown on the screen (so you can teach the children about the animals).

My daughter would have been beyond fascinated with the Matryoshka game when she was younger. First of all, she has a fascination with the dolls, but secondly, it would have appealed to her love of sorting, stacking, and solving puzzles.

She would have loved any game that involved sorting or grouping kinds of activities. Especially ones that included sorting in different ways (all shapes one time, all colors the next time, all sizes the next time, etc). She used to appear delighted to find that there were different patterns to be discovered. She still kind of likes that and she is 7 now.

Oh, we will launch in a month (I believe...) a version of Matryoshka with more dolls and a challenge mode (time trial, finish before the time is up).

She might like that :)

Just downloaded Matryoshka, will see how she likes it in the morning, Im sure she will love it. She is obsessed with iphone games and her android tablet so the idea of games aimed at autistic kids is great! It may be worth doing some more with that in mind!! :D

My daughter (shes 5 and has Aspergers, high functioning autism) likes games that are non-competetive, ie games where you just do everyday stuff like shopping, dividing birthday cake and clicking to open the gift, Toca Boca games are her favourite. If its something that has a time limit or a limited amount of lives she would get frustrated with it, she is not one to be rushed about anything! I find it relaxes her though, she enjoys the games with soft, slow and catchy music, again anythign too fast paced gets her wound up. She loves all games where you make cakes then eat them, putting things in boxes and organising things is another fave. We also like the birthday cake and shopping (Toca Boca) games because she has to let go of the phone for a while to share it as its a multi player game, this makes it less anti-social. She would play on my iphone/ipad or android tablet all day and night if we let her and if the batteries didnt run out. Also she demands new games all the time so this is probably big business lol!

Let us know if you release anymore similar games aimed at ASD kids, could be a great niche market there!! They will also appeal to my 18 month old baby who wants to join in.

Yup, I can totally see where autistic kids in particular would be fascinated with these games - but you don't come across as an "autistic game developer" or anything like that, if that's what concerns you.

I know lots of kids on the spectrum like sorting and spinning, and the two games on top are about those things. Your games are also engaging visually. Not sure if it's an AS thing, but my son loves cause-and-effect things like gravity, so he might like the snowglobe game (or might have when he was littler!)

I think some of it is also that we parents of kids on the spectrum try a little harder than other parents to find things that the kids will like but that also will expand their horizons a bit. I spend most of my time searching Commonsense Media through the "educational" filter. I think many NT parents of NT kids just get their kids whatever games are popular at the moment.

Wow awesome stuff :) I'm definitely going let my kids try it.

I suggest you do something with math/numbers. Most math things for kids are sooo boring.

Love your games/toys!
The music one is beautiful, tried the lite version and will get the full version. My NT 2 yr old and (almost) 5 yr old with ASD both LOVED it today.
They also liked the matryoshka dolls, the 5 yr old more so. A good challenge would be to add one where all the dolls looked the same, just different sizes. The bubble popping reward would make a great game itself I think, especially if you could "dip" a bubble wand in solution and "blow" the bubbles before popping them, different coloured and shaped bubbles. I love bubbles... 8)
I really liked the idea of the Christmas snow globe but I thought the snow went too fast, it was like a blizzard! The kids had trouble with it because as soon as they tipped it the snow was already at the bottom again. I think it would be even better if the snow drifted
s-l-o-w-l-y, mesmerisingly to the bottom.
Well done on all of them! and Thanks :D

Ooh yes a bubble blowing game would be great, I think both my NT 1yo and my AS 5yo would enjoy something like that!

My AS 5yo did enjoy the Matryoshka game :)

I want to learn how to do that. What specific hardware do you use?
