Quick question, how do I help my 9 yr old to recognise the difference between children laughing with him, rather than at him.

Also he has a tendency to persist with a joke when it's beyond funny...if he still finds the joke/ action funny he'll continue doing it, even if others find it annoying....he doesn't care

My 12 year old still struggles with the first one.

As for the second one, there is a spongebob episode where he rips his pants. My son loved spongebob at that age so we used it as a life lesson. Whenever he was going to far we would remind him of spongebob and "I ripped my pants." That seemed to help him make the connection. He still has to be reminded sometimes as he doesn't always correctly read people's annoyance and frustration, but he stops quickly and seems to understand why he needs to stop.

Let us know how it goes. It took my son several conversations and real life examples before he was able to apply the concept to himself.
