our insurance only pays for in-network speech services under "rehabilitation." They specifically list autism as an approved reason for speech therpy. Then they only include rehab providers who don't handle pragmatic speech for autistic kids in their network.

thanks. that's all he needs. he doesn't need expensive ABA or anything. just a little pragmatic speech help. I cannot provide it! GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRrr

My insurance, which is supposedly "good" does not cover anything autism related. For that reason, I am happy my son does not have a formal diagnosis.

Doesn't your school district cover those therapies as part of his education?

Yes, we get 2 sessions a week of each. So, we pay out of pocket to send him to ST on Saturdays.

My insurance claims to cover autism, however only covers the diagnosis and not the treatment. It is like paying for the tumor biopsy but not the cancer. Thanks insurance company.
