Today we had the usual parent-teacher conference at DS's preschool. He has been making wonderful progress with the SEIT to help him. In the past (and recently at times) he has engaged in lining up random objects in various places: in the shower, along the staircase, on tables, etc. These objects would invariably be perfectly spaced apart. Well, this activity wound up having a pretty impressive end result! DS<5 built a really impressive "castle" that wowed the teachers, and they left it up for everyone to see. This is quite an accomplishment for him especially building so high, as he has had fine motor skills problems and frustrations that made stacking hard and caused him to anger quickly and abandon projects if he could not balance things as he wanted. So today was a great day for us, seeing how he can really put his mind to doing something creative and constructive (it took him about a half hour to complete by himself) and accomplish a really fantastic end result! I am so proud of him and all the hard work it has taken him to get to this point!! !

I would post photos but apparently I have to post them to a website in order to link? Somehow this site doesn't allow regular attachment uploads. If I'm wrong, can someone please help me with the process of uploading a photo?

Wow!

It's beautiful! My imagination keeps framing it as an architect's model of an urban space--one that I would like to visit.

Thanks!! ! Apparently he had designated every area for something specific. There is an eating place, a resting place, etc. He was deliberate in what he was building. It wasn't "random" construction. I can't wait to see what other surprises he has in store! :-)

Oh my lord, that's incredible! :o Look at that attention to detail! Absolutely, completely fantastic - your original post didn't prepare me for this.
