How to observe your child's behavior
Just found this website, haven't had much time to look at it, but I'm pretty excited about what I see. The first thing that I found was this: https://www.understood.org/en/learning- ... king-notes
This is an excellent description of a Functional Behavioral Analysis, something that comes up from time to time. It is typically the first step in ABA therapy, but you don't have to move on to ABA after it if you don't want to. It gives you so much good information about how to help your child!
From what I can see, there are lots of good resources on this website, although I would offer the caveat that the solutions focus heavily on talking to your kid in volumes, which isn't necessarily beneficial for kids on the spectrum - I've found being concise is important and following up with a written, bulleted list is even better. Other than that, they seem to be on the right track.
