How many parents are here who have Asperger's themsleves, or who at least identify to some degree with Asperger's traits? If you don't mind, show yourself in this thread and say how many kids you have, and if they are NT or AS or something else!

I have 5 children: 1 AS, 1 NT, 2 unknown, and 1 likely AS. I am self-diagnosed AS though sometimes I think I might actually be HFA (if there really is a difference!) due to spoken language issues I have.

I am also curious if your spouse/ partner is AS or AS-ish. Mine is definitely AS-ish but it manifests more as OCD.

I am undiagnosed, but very sure I have AS. My oldest son, 7, has been diagnosed. NT 3 year old son. My 18 month old just had an evaluation today by the Early Intervention (First Steps) people and although they couldn't give me specifics or tell me if we were eligible for intervention, they did tell me they noticed a few clear delays. I don't know if that means they can help me, but I'm very hopefull! He's driving me absolutely INSANE!

Hi parts, I was waiting for you to show up :). And beauty, mish and wendy :) :). My kids drive me insane too, but I've learned patience. I'm much more laid back than I used to be.

I ID as aspie, so does my husband but he also had speech and developmental delays as a child. Both undiagnosed and untreated and unknown until long after Pop was diagnosed autistic. I'm pretty sure the dog is too. :D

I think I would have much more patience if I ever got more than 45 minutes to 2 hours of sleep at a time once in a while. Just one night a week would be nice.... Really, I'd be happy with 1 4hour block per night. Is that too much to ask for?

Last night was the first night in a REALLY REALLY long time my 1 year old actually slept. He fell asleep at 9 (early for him) and actually slept until 1 before waking up! And what time did I finally fall asleep? 11. Just my luck, I can't sleep on the one night my child decides to sleep for more than an hour at a time. lol. Then, just after we finally got back to sleep, I started hearing this chirping noise. It took over an hour for me to figure out what the heck it was. I was messing with all of the smoke alarms and cursing my computer, but nothing worked. I finally realized it was my new cell phone letting me know the battery was low. And of course, the baby woke up again not long after I finally got back to bed. Well, such is life.

Yesterday was his first OT appointment, so maybe the great workout he got in the ballpit while I answered her questions is what got him to sleep so well. SHe was surprised when my little guy climbed the ladder and dove headfirst into that thing, but boy did he have a blast! None of the fast food restaurants around here have ballpits, but hopefully we can start getting weekly OT and it will help!

I am most likely AS, when doing the GADS test for Hannah my friends scored me, and I score nearly all 2-3's.

So I am undiagnosed AS, and my daughter was diagnosed AS on Thursday (8th March, 2007), she is 6.5yrs
