Hey folks,

I’m an autistic college senior and I’m working on my senior thesis. My thesis is about activism in the autistic community. There are a few different parts to it. The first part is surveys. It would be really helpful for me if you could participate in the survey portion of my research. They are fairly short and should be able to be saved so that you can take a break and come back to them if needed.

I have four different surveys set up, choose which one to take based on which group you fall into. I can only use data from people who are legal adults, so please only take these if you are 18 older.

I'm posting in this specific forum because it would be great to get more parents of autistic people to take my surveys.

If you are a non-autistic parent or sibling of autistic people, please take the survey located here.

If you are an autistic adult who has autistic children, please take the survey located here

If your autistic child is an adult who does not have autistic children and has the skills necessary to take a survey like this and would be interested, please direct them to the survey located here (To clarify, this means all autistic adults except for those who have autistic children.)

Additionally, if you know any non-autistic people who work with autistic people who would be interested in taking a survey, please direct them to the survey located here.

If you take the survey and have any suggestions of ways to more clearly word questions, suggestions for questions that could be useful to ask, questions about questions, or questions about the project: feel free to comment on this post or send an email to the email listed in the survey link.

Please spread the word if you can.

Why are you assuming that a parent would have to direct us to your survey?

I was assuming that everyone looking at the parents forum would be either a non-autistic parent of autistic people or an autistic parent of autistic people, I made the surveys for parents first in this post because it is in the parents forum. I also posted in the activism forum and the surveys are arranged differently in that post. The assumption that only parents will be reading this exact post was based on my own experience of reading lots of forums not looking at the parents forums because I'm not a parent. I used the word "direct" in the sense of "show them this post". I hope that clarifies my wording.
