Hello,

My 7 year old aspie son UbbyUbbyUbby is doing is first day of homeschooling (he will do it 1/week).

He has been working so hard and having a great time.

Can you please give him some encouragement (he's having lots self-esteem issues at the moment).

Go to Random discussion - Do you like my aliens.

Thanks
Smelena (proud mum)

They are very well done. My autistic son has a hard time with drawing stuff like that from trying to picture it in his head but give him something to visually copy from he can do it.

My sons drawing style was very similar as a younger boy (5-10). Especially the way he drew the hands!

You can see the creativity, and it looks like you guys are having fun!

Have you thought of buying a light table? I know my son really likes his!

Hey, I was reading some of your sons posts, and I would just like to say that for a 7 year old, he has really great spelling. :D

He does. He asks on some of the words he's not sure of.

Up until a few weeks ago I thought he was a terrible speller.

But then I put him on the computer and he was great.

The anxiety he gets from having to write was the problem, not the spelling.

P.S. He was overjoyed with all the lovely comments he got. We're going to print them off and put them in his 'brag' book. The psychologist suggested we use a Brag Book with things that he's done successfully. We can look at this book regularly to boost his self-esteem.

Smelena, the aliens are fantastic. I love his use of color. From his comments he is obviously getting to stretch his imagination without the social restrictions of the classroom. sounds like it was a fun lesson. Keep feeding his mind, it will grow in ways you don't even dream of yet. You are doing a great job.
