Boosting receiplical language in asd toddlers
Sorry if this has been brought up many times previously on this blog by others, but what is the best way to boost social reciprical language with asd toddlers?
For example talking about their day like i went to school, did a painting etc...

I just gave a presentation at an autism conference this last Saturday. Here are two images that I have made for the presentation.
Backward
Forward
We cannot grow a tree by hanging the leaves and the fruits in midair first. If we did that, the leaves and the fruits would simply fall to the ground, because there is nothing to hold them. Instead, we must grow a tree from its roots first, then the trunk, then the branches, to finally reach the leaves and fruits.
Unfortunately, our society insists on doing things backward. There is nothing to teach for autistic children in matters related to social and verbal skills: they'll acquire all those skills on their own, later. Nothing to worry there. Yet, our society insists on doing things backward, while neglecting to develop the roots of these children. Why? Because we think that autistic children must follow the paradigm of neurotypical children. I mean, folks, open your eyes, and look around on the success rate of all those speech therapy and social skill training classes. The failure of those approaches is there for everyone to see. Yet, people keep hanging the leaves and fruits in midair, only to see them fall to the ground, again and again. Meanwhile, these children develop all sorts of psychological damage, anywhere from escapism, loss of self-esteem, resentment, anxiety, depression to extreme violence.
We create problems where there was none. Happy, smart children are turned into comatose adults.
I am not here to serve anybody. If anyone wants the details, please look through all my past postings here in the forum. I will upload the presentation material at my own leisure. Oh, the presentation was done in Spanish, so it'll take me some time to translate into English. Pull, not Push (Tirar, no Empujar). That was the title of the talk.
