Helpful tips when dealing with a meltdown

Some things I find helpful when dealing with someone who's having a meltdown: 1) Allow the person to have some alone time to process thoughts, even if it’s a five minute break! 2) Talk calmly to individual but don’t touch them. 3) Have the individual learn mindfulness. 4) Allow person to think of ways in advanced to prepare and minimize the severity of a meltdown when it does happen. 5) Break down tasks into smaller chunks. 6) Have individuals spread tasks out instead of doing too much at once- especially if it's short-term memory intensive, or stressful. I hope this is helpful. If you know any other ways, please share.
