Hi! My son is 3, has moderate autism and is completely nonverbal. He currently uses PECS well and has a binder with well over 100 cards. The binder isn't very practical, and my younger son keeps running off with all the picture cards. I know the recommended plan would be to get an ipad and proloquo2go, but we don't have the funds for that. We have started the process to try to get one, but I know how slow things like that move.
So I saw on Amazon today they have their kid's kindle fire for only $80. I'm extremely tempted to get it, but can't seem to find any info on Andriod or Amazon apps for AAC or PECS. I need something where I can add my own vocabulary words to it, preferably with photos of the object (he can't read yet). I know they have apps in the google store, but I don't know if they'll work for our situation. I'd love to hear about anyone's experience with anything Andriod, especially if it's on the kindle fire :)
