We want to adopt - will our diagnoses be a problem?
My wife has a 9-year-old daughter from a previous marriage who lives out of state with her biological mother and stepfather. We have a relationship with her - we talk, text, and FaceTime and try to visit when we can - but my wife really wants to be a full-time parent again. I do too, but I have reservations. Besides Asperger’s and ADHD, I also have bipolar disorder and generalized anxiety disorder. My wife has PTSD and depression and is prone to panic attacks. Both of us are recovering alcoholics. I’m worried that no one will let us adopt. Does anyone have experience with adoption?
