Autism on the Homefront: Parenting Autistics

This Midnight in Chicago podcast makes suggestions with regards to ways family members can facilitate positive relations between autistics and non-autistics in the family situation, and to structure the house and home environment in such a way as to make life easier and less stressful for those with autism.

I've just listened to the whole podcast and I believe with everything that the hosts of the show had to say. Especially when it came to not using the derogatory words at the end to describe somebody who's on the spectrum. Words like Spastic and ret*d, amongst other words. I also agree that the best therapy for a child with autism, is acceptance. It's also important not to try to change a person who doesn't want to change. I was also able to compare an obsession with train engines to my own Routemaster obsession. Autistics should be allowed to preservate on obsessions that give them comfort, after dealing with the s**t that the NT world hands to them on a tarnished platter, if that s**t stresses them out.

Thanks Sid. I co-wrote that podcast. There are four others out there that we also produced. Go here to listen to them if you'd like:

More are on the way, but there is still studio editing to do on them.

We will also have a full length album with music on it coming out on November 15th or there abouts.
