Does anyone remember the song from the late 80's early 90's by Chesney Hawkes--"The One and Only?" My Aspie son heard it on my Ipod the other day, and now he wants to listen to it all the time. He sings it in the shower, he sings it in class. After I really listened to the words, I told him that this song was his life ballad--the songs lyrics include: "I am the One and Only, Nobody I'd rather be; I am the One and Only--You can't take that away from me!" When I explained what those words meant to me...that he should be so proud to be who he is, his unique and wonderful self, he got the biggest smile on his face. Now, the rest of the family is trying to let him sing and play his song over and over ( I had to burn him a disk of the song, of course) while trying to get the song out of their heads from hearing it over and over and over. Just thought I'd share a feel-good story :D
