Flapping at Meal Time

Our two year old son is still being fed, for the most part, if utensils are involved. He self-feeds with crackers and pasta pick-ups, things like that. When we feed him, he flaps. He isn't unhappy and he doesn't appear frustrated, it's similar to how he behaves when excited. He looks as if he's going to take flight from his chair.

Anyone else?

my kids (NT) did this but when younger.
at 1 year I was putting a big plastic sheet on the floor under the high chair and giving them a spoon of their own as well as making sure at least some of the food occasionally got into the right place ! flapping was soon replaced by eating
it meant baths 2 or 3 times a day after meals but then bathtime was good play also.

My little guy is 23 months. Maybe he's NT?
