My daughter had one session of this and said 4 new words within 2 days (doubling her vocabulary). I suppose it could be coincidental but has anyone else's child (or you) undergone this? Other than her not being enthusiastic about the headphones it seemed harmless and non-invasive.

It is different from regular music therapy as the headphones are specially designed and the frequencies of the music are altered to stimulate the brain.

My son's OT keeps telling me about this, but I don't think my son would allow the headphones on. He's currently pretty sick so we haven't had a chance to try it out. We already listen to a lot of music, but not the special music they talk about for this.

I loved what auditory training did for my non-verbal daughter with autism plus. After the two weeks of training which was really, really hard (but at that time everything was really, really hard) our daughter at the age of fourteen suddenly began to understand what we were saying. She paid attention to our emotional states. She spontaneously signed for a brief time. She made a friend at school (and then we moved and that was the end of that). When we told her ahead of time that a schedule was altered, she could handle the alteration calmly instead of trying to kill us. When we told her she could have the icecream later in the party, she could wait. These were phenomenol advances in her life.
