I just thought I'd post this because I thought it was well-done and someone might like the information.

Diane Duane writes a series for kids/teens, the Young Wizards series (8 books and a 9th on the way). I have been reading it, and discovered that in the 6th book, it revolves around a young wizard with autism. I am told [haven't finished] that in the end this young man is successful precisely because of his particular autistic abilities. It's a great read so far and sounds like it could be a thought-provoker and self-esteem booster.

Just in case any of you have kids (say, ages 9+) who might be interested.

Thanks.

My 9 year old is currently looking for a new series of books to read .... he's read all the Harry Potter books, Narnia Chronicles and a few similar authors.

Yes the "so you want to be a wizard" series is a very good series.
I highly recommend it.

Consider the Robert A Heinlein Juvinile books.

Consider the Anne Mcaffrey Dragon books.
