I know they contain a lot of vitamins and everything but I fed some to my 7 1/2 old daughter last night and today when I changed her, her whole bum was red and it wasn't because of the orange stain either. This was a bad rash. I liberally applied some butt paste and thought about the acidity of carrots.

Carrots 5.88 - 6.40
Carrots, canned 5.18 - 5.22
Carrots, chopped 5.30 - 5.56
Carrots, cooked 5.58 - 6.03
Carrots, pureed 4.55 - 5.80
Carrots, strained 5.10 - 5.10
Carrots are in the neutral range, hope this helps, must be diaper rash, try using a little corn starch, on her bum, it helps to cool the rash down,, its an old remedy for rashes

neat. we're now thinking it's the DHA/ARA additive in the carrots.

Carrots contain Beta-caroteen which accounts for the red/orange color of your infant daughter's stool. The "acid' is in the urine
she excretes, not in the carrots.
