This if for Australian parents.

1000 Hours is a campaign to lobby government to fund a minimum of 1000 Hours of Early Intervention per annum for 2 years for every pre-school child with autism.

This was in their latest newsletter:

"What can you do to help the campaign? The 1000hours group would like your help.

We are putting together a montage of photographs of our beautiful children with autism. We
would like to be able to display this montage on the website to show Australia, and in particular the Rudd Government, how worthwhile it is to give these precious children the support they need.

How could anyone deny them the services they need?

We are hoping the number of photos we receive will reach 1000! So please join in and email your favourite photo to [email protected]

I'm e-mailing some photos now!

Australians, you may want to watch this on Sunday 11th May:

1000 hours on Channel 9
This Sunday 11th May Channel 9's "Sunday" program will run its feature story on Autism Awareness and 1000 hours. Even though it is Mother's Day, don't sleep in, as it starts at 7.30am! The mothers here at 1000 hours think a story raising awareness of their children’s ASD is the best Mother’s Day present they could receive - recognition.

Or you may want to watch this on Thursday 15th May (if you can stomach Kim and Dave)

1000 hours on Channel 10
Nicole Rogerson and Seana Smith will appear on 9am with Kim and Dave on Thursday 15th May to talk about ASDand the 1000hours campaign.

For people in Sydney:

This Saturday, 10th May is the Autism Awareness Expo in Sydney. For more details, see their website http://www.autismawareness.com.au.

The Expo will be held at Sydney University's Seymour Centre and over 2000 people are expected to visit the exhibition area and listen to the Presentations. It is designed to inform and assist parents, professionals and anyone with an interest in finding out about autism services. The day will include presentations by the organisers of the 1000hours campaign.
