Wow!
As some of you may recall, I had been having a really hard time with my sons school, in particular his VP she was being a bit of a cow.
A couple of weeks ago during my first ever IEP meeting I believe she had a light bulb moment, and finally understood Yes my son does have aspergers, no I'm not asking for the moon, but yes he is struggling and having meltdowns at home.
Today I went looking for his teacher, who I found out was away on training for the day. So I had to go see the previously unapproachable VP. National school testing on grade 3 kids is taking place next week over three days one of those days my son is usually at his aspergers arts program. I wasnt sure if I was ment to bring him in for the testing and then take him to his program, or leave him at school all day. The VP tells me not to worry, she doesnt want to stress J out, so off the record dont bring him in at all we can sign him off and get him an exemption, its completely up to me. Wow!! !! !! My goodness what a turn around.
Wednesdays testing is reading, I know he is a great reader. So no pressure now I will play it by ear. I may give J the option on Wednesday to go do his test, then go on to arts program or just go straight to arts program and not worry about it at all.
I just wanted to share, my amazing break threw with J's VP. Yay.
