I posted at length about the awful start to the year we had.

About 8 weeks ago a new Special Ed teacher started.

She is absolutely fantastic!

Within 1 week the boys settled down.

In the last 2 months my oldest son is only having meltdowns 1/week (as opposed to 3/day). My second son has only had a couple of meltdowns in the last 2 months.

The boys keep telling me how happy they are and they are both enjoying school again. My seocnd son slept in his school uniform last night so he would be read as soon as he woke up.

I'm have a break from WrongPlanet (apart from this thread) to work on my website.

I thought I'd better post some positive news, because in the last couple of months I've only been posting about the bad stuff.

Great news Helen!

Things are mostly kaput down our end at the moment but we're trying all your brilliant ideas and hopefully we'll get to see an improvement soon --- hopefully.

Congrats, Smelena! Your boys sound like they're doing great, and they deserve it! Of course, how could they miss, with you as their mother, and their wonderful grandmother (who also posts on here)! You are both two of the most upbeat women I've ever seen!

That is really great news. You probably don't have the time to list this now...but I am considering working with AS kids and was wondering if your sons have discussed what it is about this person who has made a difference for them ? Maybe you could include it on the web-site...."helping professions to help our kids" ?
