Well,
My husband's parents are here from Louisiana. We haven't seen them in a long time. The relationship hasn't always been very close in many ways.

Now, they are here to have dinner with us at our home, and the kids are acting like caged animals who haven't been let loose for a good run in the park. My living room is now the park!
They are running around and my social anxiety is about to reach it's limits.

What do you do?

Laura

Can you let the kids outside to have a run around? Or take them to a park or put on a favourite dvd? Not sure what else you could do but hugs to you and good luck!! !! !

It's 101 degrees farhenheight over here.
I don't want to take them away from their Grandpa and Nana since they haven't seen them in over 2 yrs.

I'm just looking for a little moral support and ideas. I appreciate you willingness to help.

Thanks,
Laura

Everything's better now. We had a good dinner together and the boys settled down.
Overall, thing's really bad.

Days like that I think you just cross ya fingers, wait for bedtime and then have a good stiff drink when they are sleep.

You could also anticipate times when chaos may happen and hire a 'sitter to keep a close eye on the children. This would give you leave to take some quite time for yourself if things get a little to intense.

I really admire your ability to see their side of the story in your plight.
