Serine is very unlikely to be a deficiency since the body makes it.
I expect it to be a Placebo but I would try it anyway.
P-serine may be a DRUG, as it has been altered in a way that may get it into the brain.
I have no idea what effect higher than normal serine levels in the brain might have.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SerineSupplements may come as powder in gelatin capsules, which are large but can be pulled apart releasing a powder. Sugar pills can be crushed into a powder. Liquid gels can be punctured to release the liquid. Whatever form P-serine comes in can be mixed with honey or pudding after being released in these ways, for the purpose of avoiding swallowing pills.
SERINE CAN BE A DEFICIENCY! Please be careful what you post

It is well known that deficiencies CAN occur with SERINE.
There are some cases of VERY SEVERE deficiency and others that cause a problem in behaviour but don't show up as SEVERE on a blood test.
I can prove serine deficiency, my son's lab results.
Also it is MORE common now as we are not eating as much fresh meat. Serine is derived from BOVINE brains which is why because of the BSE crisis we have to derive it from soya.
Just wanted to straighten that out!
