Yeah, but what if it's something as simple as people are eating too much sugar, which is causing pre-diabetic/metabolic conditions in mothers that lead to a spike in the number of children born with developmental delays.

Exactly when did we start processing sugar and putting it in all these foods? If you shop at one of the big grocery stores (besides Whole Foods), look at the ingredients in your so-called healthy cereals, salad dressings, etc. There is sugar (high fructose corn syrup in the US) hidden in almost every box, can, and package of food we buy. Our recent ancestors might have eaten this way, but humans have not always eaten this way.

This is quite interesting as I remember reading an article linking Thyroid problems and autio-immune disease to Autism.

Well I do have a thyroid problem but it was due to pregnancy. My last pregnancy. I remember during my pregnancy how depressed I was and how I would just lag on everything. I would find myself just sitting on the couch, looking around, and just not wanting to do anything. After awhile of sitting there I would kinda snap outta it, and go wow, I'm just sitting here, not doing nothing lol.

After I gave birth I lost like 25 pounds immediatly, and then the next two weeks ate everything in site and gained back 15. Thats never happened to me before (with my 2 other births.)

Anyway I continued to be depressed and gain weight so I talked to my doc who tested me and yep had to start the good ol meds.

But the strange thing is, all of my children are either on the spectrum, have TS or ADHD with Sensory, OCD and Anxiety. But only with my last child did I develope the thyroid problem.
