Would anyone like to list some really cute behaviors that your child did or does that is actually out of the norm? I'll start:
My child didn't like when my husband would stare at him (He was staring out of love). He would say, "Day-dee, put your eyes over there" instead of saying "Stop looking at me".
When he was mad or frustrated he'd jump up and down but would scream, "Up!...Down!" He wouldn't scream about what was actually bothering him. Sometimes, he would get into giggling fits and nobody knew why. But it was contagious!

The first thing that comes to mind turns out to have been the result of a co-morbid, loose joints, but it still was dang cute.

As a baby, my son learned to sit up by spreading his legs into a center split while lying on his tummy, and pushing himself up by walking his hands backwards, putting his body through the center split. I have yet to hear of another baby doing it that way.

He also can just blow your socks off with his ability to understand really complex topics. Daily living - forget it, he's a disaster. True crisis or complexity - he soars.

different I am assuming as doing something the average child normally wouldn't do. It wasn't meant to be an insult to anyone, I'm sure, and everyone likes to think there is something unique about their child...
-----

My step dad used to really mess with my now 9 year old as a baby. My step-dad would knock something off the table and when he, then the baby, would bend down to pick it up my step-dad would turn something on the table up-side-down. (He would turn one crayon point facing the opposite direction). When he looked back at the table he would blink, right the crayon, or whatever was turned, before he could play again.

I do it with him sometimes as well, he has some of those 9 piece moving puzzles and if there is one by him that isn't "correct" he has to fix it before he can move on to the next activity. I'll mess it up and then put him by him. It only takes him about 5 seconds to fix those things so he just sighs, fixes it then calls me "goofy-mommy". (He thinks it is great that he can do them and I can't.)

------

My 6 year old plays rockband on expert in guitar.

-----

My now 4 year old sings at the top of his lungs while he is on the potty. He loves the acoustics.. even in the store or the restaurant....

------

My 2 year old asks people when they say that need to use the rest room if they need "to get those poopies out" no clue there. haha, slightly embarrassing.

About understanding complex subjects and disastrous daily living: My brother-in-law is an atomic scientist but he can't tie his shoes right or dress properly. My sister has to actually chase him around to make sure everything is right before he leaves for work or anywhere else.
...but he's a genius... 8O it's crazy!!
