Has anyone here done any online aspie tests while looking into a diagnosis ? How accurrate are they?
Both of my daughters took the test ( One has been diagnosed the other is in the process )
And I have been struggling with thing for years so I took the test and my score was even higher than my daughters . ( 160 )

The test we took was at http://www.rdos.net/eng/Aspie-quiz.php ( anyone do this one ? )

I wouldn't put my faith in an online test... I'd see it as "fun".
I took the test and got about 100, as far as I remember: half NT half AS.
As for being an aspie: if you feel you have problems in your everyday life related to AS, you could think about seeing a psychiatrist about a diagnosis.
Otherwize I would chose to see the test as illustrating that AS traits often are seen by many members of a family, and it can be useful to be aware of strenghts/weaknesses related to the traits you have, and work from there.

EDIT Tony Atwood has a diagnostic test/questionaire that is more "kosher". I score aspie in it, but as I function just fine I haven't given the idea of a diagnosis much thought..

I made my friend (teen) do the test. I was curious what the test would say since that friend is very empathic, highly intelligent but not so much into social activities with peers and rather with older adults. Certainly not autistic though.

Anyway, the result said the scores pointed towards half-AS and half-NT traits. That doesn't look very accurate. At the same time, there's a high correlation between AS diagnoses and results of the test, which then again points to that the quiz is accurate in some aspects. I'm a bit quizzed now.

I found this very accurate for myself. My husband couldn't get through it for himself (severe ADHD). The boys are still too young to test.

From what I've read, it's not as accurate as an adult because we've learned coping skills. I do have an official diagnosis to go along with my quiz results.

Your Aspie score: 135 of 200
Your neurotypical (non-autistic) score: 95 of 200
You are very likely an Aspie

The test might work for teens, but only if they are self-aware enough. So you should probably second-check a teens answers yourself to make sure they are somewhat compatible with your own impressions of the them. This is also how the diagnostic process of children/teens works. It is parents and other important people that get to fill out questionaries. When I tried Aspie-quiz on my daugther, I read all the questions, and let her answer them verbally, then I filled out for her. That way I had some kind of control that she answered questions properly and understood them.

Regardless, Aspie-quiz is not a diagnostic instrument for ASDs, and nor is its intention to identfy the problems that are required for a professional diagnosis. A high score on Aspie-quiz and considerable problems because of the traits, is a pretty good indicator that the teen (or adult) might be able to get an ASD diagnosis.

Thank you for all of your replies. With my oldest daughter I did do the test with her but my 12 year old was just getting too frustrated so I allowed her to take it on her own answering questions if she had any and this seemed to work better for her. I read over her answers and agreed with most ( she saw the issues and gave them a 1 ( a little ) when I might have given it a 2 ( Often ) . My husband and I each also filled out a similuar test for her at her evaluation.
I have her a 124 / my husband gave her a 120 and they have not ruled out or confirmed AS ... So I was curious as to how she would do on the test herself and she got a 122 . I know in my heart that she has AS ... It's just so frustrating trying to get the Dr's to confirm a diagnosis.

Thank you again
