Nate finished up his testing with the neuropsych today. I am certain the doctor will say HFA. He is already saying "autism spectrum disorder" so it's just a matter of how he diagnosis Nate.

Nate had a HUGE discrepancy between verbal, performance and Processing speed on the cognitive eval. On the verbal, he had a score in the low average range (SS = 85), on the Nonverbal he had a score in the very superior range (SS = 131), and in processing speed he had a score in the low average range (SS = 80). It all makes sense to us. I thought he would score even lower in the verbal section.

We go for the actual dx part in three weeks. He has a lot of information to sort through. I gave him a lot of information to sort through! He does seem like a great doctor.

Those numbers sought a lot like my son's. It's really startling to see, isn't it? Well, it was for me, at least. Putting what we sense into black and white numbers.

I am glad you feel this doctor is competent, and I wish the best to all of you.

Good to hear you got good testing from a competent evaluator.

I believe testing for me would turn out the opposite, with my highest score in the verbal domain.
