That reminds me, I forgot to mention that Final Fantasy 6 has some pretty kick a** music , especially 'Aria de Mezzo Caraterre' and 'Dancing Mad'. Although all the Final Fantasy Games have great music as well.

I love Dancing Mad 5.

Trivia: Aria de Mezzo Caraterre is actually a real opera piece.

forget Aeris dying, the Opera scene in FFVI in the most emotional moment in the whole series. a great moment in the 16-bit era. stripping an opera down to the basics and it still has it's impact!

Final Fantasy 6? Are you guys referring to Final Fantasy III that came out in America?

yup. they remained it as FFIII because it was the third to come out in America. the actual II, III, and V didn't get released until later.

In terms of music from VI, I prefer Terra and Dancing Mad. Oh, and Kefka.

i judge Final Fantasy music on how good the battle themes are (since you'll be hearing those the most). bearing that in mind, FFVI probably had the best. i hear any of them and i just think "oh bring it b***h!". "Force Your Way" from FFVIII was pretty good though. one of the few things i liked about that one.

FFXII probably had one of the weakest ones. most the main themes felt like re-hashes and the new ones didn't jump at you as much. Nobou's absence was really noticeable. *sighs* ah XII. a lot of good ideas but just not quite there yet.

btw, am i the only one who hates pop music showing up in FF games? just from the intro of FFX-2 i knew it was all downhill from there. i mean, Songstress Dressphere? was this game made by the makers of Barbie? i'd love a game with all female protagonists but making them play dress-up as part of the game just seems silly. i hope whoever thought of that was fired.

Ah yes, I forgot to mention Terra's theme too, damn, and it's my absolute favorite of all video game music too and I forgot to mention it. By the way the other two I mentioned come as close seconds.
