Alright I want everyones opinion what do you think are THE top 5 rpgs of all time from FF1 from the NES to Grandia from PSX to Fire Emblem from the GBA, all systems made between atari up to the PSX

dont add any system thats ps2 or above that means no xbox or xbox 360 we want only the decade or older games.


I'll be updating regularly depending on whichever games get the most votes. Until the games get more votes I will arbitrarily decide which games get top, also I will not add series since they will most likely be similar.

Also the order of the games will be completely unbiased, if they have the same amount of votes then they will be sorted alphabetically, also if it is of the same series then it will be grouped together until one wins over the other. Also if it's in the series then its order will be chronological instead of alphabetical.

Okay, here's my opinion:

Chrono Trigger
Chrono Cross
Final Fantasy VII
Pokemon Blue/Red
Vagrant Story (didn't sell very well, but one of the best RPG's I ever played!)

My 2 favorites will always be Chrono Trigger and FFVI(3) for the SNES.

Xenogears - psx
Castlevania: Symphony of the Night - psx
Valkyrie Profile - psx
Chrono Trigger - snes
Front Mission - snes

(FF are always good, it's just a no-brainer compared to more obscure ones)

FFVII and FFIX

My favorites include:
Shining Force II - Genesis
Final Fantasy Tactics - PSX
Pokemon Gold/Silver - GBC
Grandia - PSX
Final Fantasy VI(III) - SNES

Definitely Chrono Trigger and FF6 for me.
Rounding out my choices would have to be Dragon Quest 3, Pokemon R/B/Y, and a little unknown gem that I personally love: Lufia 2.

Not a top 5, but...

...Pokemon Crystal.
