Okay lol the title explains it all, how is it done?

I have windows media connect mce. Unfortunately I have the new version and there are NO .mcl files.

I tried using the shortcut method and it showed up on my computer but I couldn't use it on my xbox 360.

How do I use the current WMC/MCE to play any type of emulator on my computer, preferable psx emulation but any and all types are welcome, as soon as I found the way to do one I can do the rest on my own, I just need to be pointed in the right direction.

Also it doesn't need to be through wmc/mce as long as I can play any type of older games.

atm im looking for

snes emulator
nes emulator
psx emulator
atari emulator

and well just about everything. Setting it up so me and the rest of my family have some nice games to play, I'll have some good old fashioned rpgs, my mom will have tomb raider, my dad will have rainbow six, and all the younger ones will have spyro/crash bandicoot as well as many others.

Thanks in advance to all those willing to help.

Links to programs/guides or whatever else you suggest would be greatly appreciated as well :)

Almost everything on the 360 except for Halo 3 and Fable is available as a PC title (and Halo 3 will become a PC title soon)...

I have several PCs, but the 360 is hooked up to the wide-screen in front of the recliner ... which is next to the beer fridge ...

The reason I want to port over to my xbox 360 is for the larger screen as well as having a controller so please I need help emulating from the xbox, if I wanted to emulate from my pc I'd already be doing that.

didnt know FF3 was out as a PC title? please only relevant posts

and please think before you post

I have an xbox 360, why would I want to emulate for something I already have?

haha If I ran a forum, people who ignored the question and went by the title alone would get the banhammer  lol juuust kiddin

You're being a bit on the rude side. You're less likely to get helpful replies that way... I would help if I could, but I know about as much about emulating as I do about badminton. (not much)

Well he didn't read it the first time I don't expect him to read that either lol. After all, if he doesn't read what I say I can't see him being offended by it and well I don't think it's all that rude, it could've been completely avoided if he would have taken around 15 to 30 seconds to sit down and read before hitting the post reply button. I even specifically stated exactly what I was looking for.

Thanks either way just asking cause nobody I've talked to seems to know  heh I will continue my search.

Running emulators on an xbox instead of a PC is like building a model ship in a bottle instead of just building it. Sure it has entertainment value but it's also making something unnecessarily difficult.

In any case once you get to a point where you can execute x386 binaries with access to the multimedia APIs you should be golden but getting there with all the DRM and stripped / locked down OS is something I wouldn't even bother with. More trouble than it's worth just to make it do something a PC does by default.

but if you are playing something like a ps2 emulator then you would need to use the xbox system in order to get any kind of fps, unless of course you would play on a game with 15 fps where every 4 seconds of play is 1 second on a real game, (ps2 was fried because of a power surge). This is why it is so hard to find it or ask someone about it lol the only answer you get is, paraphrase "its hard" to emulate on the xbox. If it wasn't hard I wouldn't be asking for help. I could give quite a few more reasons as to why It would be much better to use the 360 for emulation instead of a computer.

If you insist I could give more reasons.

Hard drive space
fps
portability
controllers
large tv screen
may not be my computer
it may have deep freeze and delete anything saved on it after reboot

There are more reasons other than this including that you can only effectively play 1 player games, while if you try to do a 4 player game on 1 keyboard it gets a bit cramped.

you can also play the same game on 3 different computers if you need to because my house has 6 people living in it including me, my parents and my siblings.

lol thats all I seem to be getting.

me: "how"
so far everyone: "answering the wrong question"

i didnt ask why I shouldn't, I asked how I could......... I think he's just replying to increase his post count lol

Most modern wide-screen TVs have DVI and/or HDMI inputs, which would allow most modern PC's to connect to them. If I had a wide-screen in front of a recliner, I would have a PC attached to it.

good, you solved one problem, now the others? 6 people want to play, more if my parents/siblings have friends over, 2 computers are strong enough to handle decent emulation one of which is my mothers business computer so no games go on that one. So basically 1 computer. The larger display was one reason and a minor one at that, take on a more relevant reason :) solutions to problems outside of emulation on the 360 without buying anything extra (tight on cash cause of gift buying/large christmas dinner) seriously though lol who else has a mother that spends $100+ on a dinner? Personally I'd be fine with a $1.50 box of ramen noodles :P

I noted the worst problem as you can see. I'm about to just wait till Feb. and just see if I can manage to find an extension that will hook into the usb drive or something.

What kind of gamer are you, having people over? :P That aside, most PC games don't support split-screen multiplayer in and of themselves, so emulating them on the 360 won't actually help you much...

Read my first post............... do I talk about emulating PC games?

Also, why would you need an emulator to emulate PC games on the PC, are you sure you know what an emulator is?

I've decided not to bother with this anymore, ill just break out the board games, tell em to have fun and then go play on my computer :P

choose your online game and have at the private server madness :) I am currently on a number of these games, including RF, Gunz and Flyff

The legality of emulation is disputed, and really, it depends on your country, but have you tryed searching with sourceforge or the Pirate's bay?
I can recommend Snes9X, FCEUX. Super Nintendo and Nintendo Emulators.
I have to admit, the ZSnes interface is not for me. To active and flashy feeling.
