What, no votes for the most epically awesome villian ever, Kefka Palazzo? I've no idea how to put spoiler tags in here but if you've played the game, you know he pulls off something that very few villians (in ANYTHING) have ever been able to do.

Sephiroth easily tops Kefka because he wanted destroyed the Planet. His Masamune is no laughing matter either. Plus he massacred Cloud and Tifa's hometown. He try it again in Advent Children as well.

Quote:
Sephiroth has been well-received within the video game community due to his complex motivations and his iconic appearance, particularly his extremely long sword, Masamune. As a result, he is regularly featured in top positions on many "best villain" lists and character polls assembled by game publications and fans.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say Squall from FF8 (at least for the first half of the game before he became all emo about rinoa...)

Also, Auron from FF10, the most freaking badass character ever designed for a JRPG (Sephiroth fans piss off... Auron will kick your ass... he's the Chuck Norris of JRPGs...)

PS: the people that listed Tidus... have you lost your damn minds? Tidus cries himself to sleep every night... :P

Did you play FFVI (3)? Kefka pretty much does destroy the planet. (Yeah it's a spoiler but it happens like 1/3 the way in anyway) He totally reshapes the continents, destroys almost all plant life, and probably 90% of the human population. What did Sephiroth do besides kill Aeris (GOOD!) and a little town?

I agree, Sephiroth is not nearly as badass as everyone makes him out to be.

You mean FF6 and Sephiroth has done more than most people think (Just play FFVII to find out a good bit about him)
