I was wondering if anyone here likes Namco's Tales Series.

I'm simply addicted to those games, the amazing characters, the incredible worlds, the endearing storyline, the awesome battle system.

Any other fans?

I got through the one for Gamecube a few years ago. I will play the Wii sequel sometime this year.

Ahh,Tales of Symphonia. That was the Tales game that got me hooked on the Series. My siggy is from that game.

The Wii Sequel really didn't do the original justice though, it was obviously a budget title. It was pretty good though.

I have a gut feeling that Tales of Graces will be the game to truly bring the Tales experience to the Wii.

I've been saving up for a 360 almost solely so I can play that game.

Both my current avi and my location listed in the forums are from that game. As is the background on my computer.

So yes, I'm very excited to play that game (I'll have enough for it and the 360 a week from Friday, yay!)

I love the series. The original for Gamecube was the best I think. Though I enjoyed the Wii version. It has a very engrossing story and fun gameplay. I love how the environments are depicted. I will for sure get the new Tales game when it comes out.

I first started playing the Tales series of games with Tales of Destiny for the PS1. I almost got to the end when my Playstation got weird and messed up my memory card. Since then I have had Tales of Eternia, Symphonia, Phantasia, and Legendia. I would say that these days the Tales series looks the same in every game. I know the same guy designs all the characters, but how about a dark and twisted Tales game, where the hero isn't always a late teenager, and the monsters get real ugly. Sort of like the transition from Zelda: Wind Waker to Twilight Princess, if you know what I mean.

I have only played Symphonia, and that i can only sum that game up in one word: WIN!!. The gameplay and music is the best parts,
and The story was some of the best i've ever seen :o. The hell knight was annoying because of the giant sword, until i found out that i could go close to him to evade it 8)

I absolutely LOVE Vesperia. 30 hours in and not even to the second story-based achievement out of three. Plus, it has Rita Mordio, one of the best game characters of all time.

I played through Tales of Phantasia for the SNES, and found it to an enjoyable B-grade JRPG with an interesting battle system. Later I tried Tales of the Abyss for the PS2. I never got very far into it, as I found the plot and characters incredibly cliche and the production values lacking.

Possibly as a result of having played many JRPGs my tolerance for mediocre JRPGs has waned. The last really good original JRPG I've played recently has been FFXII, which was released a while ago. At the moment the only JRPGs I'm looking forward to are DQIX and FFXIII.
