Yes I am looking forward to it, each new game offers upgrades from the previous one, and this one looks to have a few. Pluss the Johto one is a favourite, it was the first big purchase I had, I like the starters and the graphics look amazing, it is great to see how far it has gone.

Mario recycles the same basic "storyline" (if you can call it that.) however the levels and gameplay of each game are completely different and each usually manage to stay unique.

Anyway, I'm kind of in the same boat as the OP, this will pretty much be the first game in the main series since the original Gold/Silver that I'll most likely pick up and play all the way through.

Well, I haven't touched my copy of Diamond in a while, but since I lost my old Gold cart a long time ago, I'm actually tempted. Just have to weigh it against Galaxy 2 and Metroid this summer.

They come out in 2 days here, I suppose I'll buy them, but I don't have enough money for that, all the books I'll be buying on the weekend and my electronics stuff. I'll have to choose.

You would have lost Gold anyway, the internal battery would run out and your saves would be gone. It happened to my copy of Silver.

I now have SoulSilver! It's great, waves of nostalgia are going through me, I haven't played these games for ages, it's nice to have them back.

I got my copy of HeartGold today, got it for just under 50 Australian dollars, K-Mart had the special of it being this instead of $65.

It is good so far, chose Cyndaquil like I planned, and I am enoying the old gold/silver parts mixed with the new DS parts. They also made fully touchscreen manucerable menus, which I wish they had in the other DS games.

I have never played the original Gold/Silver so I am keen to save up for it. The pokewalker looks preety neat too. But $90.00?!? That is why I have to save for it.

$90.00?!
Mine was roughly the equivalent of $50.

You are Australian right, if so K-mart has a special deal on it for about $50.

My girlfriend has Heart Gold, so I'm getting Soul Silver to complement that.

I'm really interested in the Pokewalker accessory, to me it seems like a great way to interact with my Pokemon. For those who don't know, the Pokewalker is a toy similar to the Tamagotchi toys way back when. You can download a Pokemon from your game to your Pokewalker using the infrared transfer system. Also, as the name implies, the Pokewalker has a built-in pedometer, which allows you to accumulate experience for your Pokemon as you walk. This works well for me because I have to walk everywhere in Laramie, so if I keep one of my weaker Pokemon with me in the Pokewalker, I can level it up pretty quick.
