Will this game come out already! Anyone have any predictions of when it will? Has anyone played the beta?

Invite only, closed beta. Patches are happening to balance it more than weekly while testing. Right now the first campaign (Terran) and full multiplayer version of the game, Starcraft II: Wings of Liberty, is still scheduled for a June/July time frame. But, as with all other Blizzard games, it will be released when it's done and they have no qualms about pushing back release dates.

I came quickly to this thread thinking my mini RV (a StarCraft G-20) was being discussed. Imagine my sadness to realize instead of real life adventures it is only fantasy and make believe. I am not naive enough to think anyone cares. :D

That's why their games are so good.

I lost interest when they decided to split the game into 3 seperate games. The first game to come out will feature only the Terran's campaign. I don't want to be out $150 to get the whole story.

They are greedy bastards for splitting it into three games, but I for one will buy it anyway.

I was going to, but seeing as I don't care for standard play as much and they -still- are using a completely outdated and poor hotkey system, on top of 3 separate releases... Eh... I don't think I will be buying it now. I only play for the custom stuff, and having to buy all 3 copies just to keep up to play custom maps is ridiculous.

Oh, I heard they also are going to allow people to charge money for their maps... Forget that. I like variety, and having to shell out cash for custom maps only limits my variety.

I played the beta about 5 times then gave up. Blizzard thought it would be great to give out keys to people who eat, sleep, and breathe Starcraft. I'll just wait for the single-player game...

This is why they broke up the game into three parts so you people stop crying about when the game will be out...

Personally, I think Blizzard games are pretty so-so. People like them because the other half of the internet does.

No. People like Blizzard's games because they're fun and extremely polished. You don't need to be on the I-Hate-Blizzard train just because half the Internet is.

I don't understand why people are complaining about having to "buy the game 3 times," like an expansion pack is a brand new idea for video games. Each of the campaigns will have 30 missions (StarCraft and Brood War only had 8 to 10 missions for each campaign), and with each new release will come new content along with the new campaigns such as new units, multiplayer maps, etc.
