No. I prefer ninjas.

When I was thinking of Steel/Ghost what other kind of thing to draw inspiration from than pirates.

Ghost ships and all kinds of metals.

Or I guess it could be based on a hollow suit of armor.

The closest thing to a pirate movie I remember watching is that one episode of South Park where Cartman runs away to some third world country to become a pirate.

The third new Pokémon is going to be revealed on Pokémon Sunday next week; I hope it's an awesome one.

I hope it is either a new steel or ghost type I'm trying to build different type based teams

A Steel/Ghost with Levitate would be incredible; it would have eight resistances (one of them a double resistance), four immunities, and only one weakness.

I've been thinking about that for months. :)
I've noticed that most defensive pokemon only have high stats in two out of the three HP, Def and Sp. Def. I say 5 base Speed should be enough, and focus on making it take hits instead.
But I guess that typing could be all around great if it was more offensive and left the defensive bit to its resistances.

Ah, speaking of stationary games, I haven't bought a Stadium-type game since Stadium 2. I considered Battle Revolution, but meh. I guess I'll get the Gen V one some day.

I'm curious about the new abilities. An ability that can benefit from weaknesses would be cool. Picture a pokemon with four or five weaknesses that can be hurt but not fainted by super effective damage, or gets a small stat boost with every super effective hit. Something like that.

I would like a relentless ability that prevents all flinching, stat decreases, and ailments like sleep or Disable from taking effect until the end of the turn. That is to say that it would expand on Inner Focus, and effectively ensure that no surprise will stop the pokemon from using a move. It could still fall asleep, just not in the middle of a turn.

I've been wondering; has anyone played through any large part of HG/SS with only pokemon like the starter, Mr. Pokemon's Togepi, Bill's Eevee, the red Gyarados, the Tyrogue from Mt. Mortar, and the Elder's Dratini?

I wonder why this thread is constantly marked as unread for me. :?

I can't say I'm very happy with these designs, but I wasn't very happy with Chimchar or Turtwig either. I guess I can still hope for some improvement.

I can't wait for Black and white, need to refresh my Japanese in time for the Fall release. Though I'm not sure I'll be in the mood for it since Heart Gold is taking me forever. I have mad OCD and I keep abandoning my team and starting over with different ones from lvl 1 eggs.

Yeah, pick a shock site that people don't know if you're going to do that.

I think it's Fire on the left, Water on the right, and Grass up top. And PLA, don't worry. The three starters for DPP started out lame, but I think all three of them ended up looking pretty cool. I can't wait to see what type combinations the starters will end up being, especially the Fire-type; I know they won't do a third Fire/Fighting starter in a row.

Yeah, I wonder if that's a beak or just a pointy nose. Of course, there have already been two non-Flying bird starters. :P

Hey, in case anyone is interested, I found this tool a few months ago: http://www.filb.de/games/tools/aikotoba
It gives you passwords for certain NPCs that can give you secret wallpapers for your PC boxes. There's a really cool wallpaper for Platinum, and a number of quite pretty ones for HG/SS.
